Clients, Friends and Colleagues,
I hope this letter finds you safe, healthy, and learning to live and grow in our new/next “normal.” I have been thinking of all of you and I realize that many of you are wondering what in the world is going on with me and Sierra Massage Therapy.
I realize that quarantine and COVID isolation since March has been hard for all of us. For me, it has been a blessing. I have been given a time for much needed reflection, clarity and direction.
The truth is, owning a small business is much like being a parent. I often think of my entrepreneurship much like I consider being a mother. My business was like a child for me in many ways. It was also a teacher, a guide, a beacon on the shore and a source of so much joy and love for me.
In business ownership, just like motherhood, you grow – you grow alongside your child - you learn, you thrive, you love. You mold your business to be what you dream it to be. If you are doing what you love (and I hope you are) there is joy in every single day. There is pride in every moment. You flow when you need to flow, and you adapt as your business grows. There are times of trials but overall it is beautiful and brings joy and peace to your heart.
What I know to be the truth is that my Sierra Massage Therapy clients,friends, and colleagues are family to me. In fact, you have given me the support and the courage and the pride to be able to say, it is time now for me to start a new chapter in my life, actually- to begin an entirely new book! I have new dreams and new ambition, newfound spirit to take on whatever comes next for me.
Earlier this year, I sent a video to you, my SMT family – letting you know that we would be going on hiatus as we dealt with COVID-19 and the impacts on my business - along with some of my own personal decisions that I wanted to take the appropriate time to make. I have taken the time I needed to reflect on the many years with Sierra Massage Therapy and I am proud of all that we did for our community, for the well-being of our clients and the role model that I was able to be for my sons as a woman-owned business! I will forever be humbled by your support of me and of SMT. It is so difficult for me to write these words. I am prolonging writing what I need to say… I have made the difficult decision to close Sierra Massage Therapy.
I look forward to dreaming my next audacious dream and whatever plans God has designed for me. I will continue to work as always with excellence as unto Him!
I will always be grateful and humbled for the love and support and can not wait for the day we are able to hug freely and hold each other tightly :)

Hello and welcome, my name is Erica Rowe, CEO of Sierra Massage Therapy. For over 20 years, I have been in the health and wellness industry as a Board Certified Licensed Massage Therapist. I am licensed through the VA Board of Nursing and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. I hold advanced certifications in Pre/ Post Natal Massage, Myofascial Release Techniques and Trigger Point Therapy.
While working for some of the top companies in the hospitality industry honing my craft and expanding my resume, it was evident that the success of any business is the satisfaction of it’s clients.
